BRENHAM PD REPORTS ARRESTS FOR DWI, POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, MUNICIPAL WARRANTS

  

Brenham police arrested three people between Friday and Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance and multiple municipal warrants.

Around 7:45 p.m. Friday, Officers Karime Ortiz and Brayten Rolling were patrolling near the 500 block of West Blue Bell Road when they spotted an individual driving a lawn mower impeding traffic and not having the proper equipment to be operating on the roadway.  Police conducted a traffic stop and determined that the driver was intoxicated.  62-year-old Marvin Lee Weidemann of Brenham was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Washington County Jail.

Shortly after 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Officer Evan O’Grady conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling eastbound in the 1700 block of East Blue Bell Road with expired registration.  After investigation, police placed 23-year-old Jetta Shows of Brenham into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram.  Shows was transported to the Washington County Jail.

Approaching 11:15 p.m., Officer Stephen Mosley stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Highway 290 West and Highway 36 North.  Investigation revealed that the driver, 55-year-old Reymundo Ortiz Gomez of Chappell Hill, had six active warrants out of Brenham Municipal Court.  Gomez was taken into custody for his active warrants: Failure to Appear/Bail Jumping, Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection, two counts of Driving While License Invalid, and capias pro fine warrants for No Driver’s License and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
