The Austin County Sheriff’s Office has a new tactical armored vehicle.
Sheriff Jack Brandes announced earlier this week the arrival of a new BearCat, which will provide deputies and other first responders with an additional resource during critical incidents, high-risk operations and rescue situations, both locally and throughout the region.
The sheriff’s office said the project has been several years in the making and was supported with grant funding.
Brandes said, “We are proud to add this capability to our resources and remain committed to ensuring our agency and regional partners are prepared to respond when our communities need us most.”
