HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX GRANT APPLICATIONS OPEN NOV. 2
Tourism organizations in Washington County will soon be able to apply for the next round of Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) grant funds.
Applications for the spring 2027 HOT grant cycle will open on Monday, November 2nd at 8 a.m.
Earlier this year, the county established an online grant portal that funding applicants can use to draft and submit their applications, view current and previous applications, turn in post-event reports, and keep up to date on important announcements in one location.
HOT funds are awarded twice a year, once for the spring funding cycle and again for the fall. The funds go toward promoting events, mitigating costs of special projects, or covering operating expenses.
Once open on November 2nd, applications will remain open until Monday, November 16th at 5 p.m. The county’s HOT fund committee will perform an eligibility review the following week before presenting funding recommendations for commissioners court consideration in early December. Approved applicants will be notified and awarded funding soon after.
