AUSTIN CO. LIFTS BURN BAN

Austin County is the latest county to drop its burn ban.

Austin County Commissioners moved on Monday to rescind the county’s burn ban that had been in effect since August 24th.  The decision to end the burn ban comes after recent rainfall.

Most counties in the region have lifted their burn bans, including Brazos, Colorado, Fayette, Grimes, Waller and Washington counties.

As of today (Wednesday), Burleson and Lee counties still have burn bans in place.

Officials advise anyone looking to conduct burns to continue practicing fire safety, use caution, and ensure all fires are properly attended and completely extinguished.
