B.R.A. SAYS 2015 RAIN HAS POSITIVE EFFECT
According to the Brazos River Authority, the rain in 2015 had an overall positive effect on the Brazos River.
Receiving such a great amount of rain after a 5 year drought lead the basin to become saturated causing the river to flood a few times over the course of 2015. In June, the river began to flow at 100,000 cubic feet per second; the fastest of the year in the Hempstead area.
As of today, (Thursday) the river is currently in the action stage, meaning to prepare for a possible flood, at 32 feet. Its current flow is 22,000 cubic feet per second and is expected to rise through Friday, the 8th and then decline.
