BLUEBONNET ELECTRIC UPGRADING POWER LINES

  

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative members in northern Washington County will experience temporary power outages Tuesday, Oct. 10, as crews complete an upgrade to electric distribution lines. The upgrade will increase the voltage carried through the power lines and is needed to continue reliably serving a growing number of homes in the area.

Bluebonnet will interrupt power between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, to about 690 members in Washington County, north of Burton to Lake Somerville.

“Safety is our top priority on every job,” said Matt Bentke, Bluebonnet’s general manager. “We will have about 36 Bluebonnet employees and contractors, and about 20 vehicles in the area working to complete this conversion with as little impact on our members as possible. We take every precaution possible to make these jobs safe, and ask that residents in the area be extra cautious and aware of our crews.”

The planned outage will affect members on or near FM 1948, Rehburg Road, FM 594, FM 390, Longpoint Road, FM 2780, Bredthauer Road, Wildflower Road and Christian Cemetery Road.

Bluebonnet will also call every residential member who will be affected by the outage to inform them of the day and period of time they will be without power.
