BURTON COUNCIL APPROVES WATER RATE INCREASE
The Burton City Council has given final approval to a rise in water and wastewater rates.
The council approved a $4 increase in residential water rates from $28-to-$32 dollars.
They also approved an increase in residential wastewater rates from $21.70-to-$23.
Both increases take effect January first.
The council also continued their preparations for a new EMS facility, authorizing abandonment and conveying a portion of Trinity Street easement on a two-acre tract.
The office will house an advanced paramedic for the Burton area.
Council members also approved a future burial site of retired Burton Police Canine Officer Tux.
When Tux eventually dies, she will be buried in a city park on Main Street.
