SNOOK ISD BOND ELECTION SATURDAY

The Snook Independent School District is making another run at passing a bond package this week for improvements to the District.

Two separate bond measures are on the ballot for Snook voters Saturday for more than $8 million.  The first option includes $7.5 million in funding for a new multipurpose football and track stadium, improvements to the baseball field, new parking lots and school renovations for new programs and increased safety.  It also includes a new cafeteria, fine arts and career and technical education classrooms.

The second option is for the construction of a new softball complex at a cost of $725,000.  The complex would share restroom and concession facilities with the new football stadium.  If both measures pass, the projected tax impact is expected to be a maximum of an additional 15 cents per $100 valuation.  Last November a different $7.5 million bond package was voted down by Snook ISD voters 192 to 157.

This Saturday’s election will be held at the Snook ISD Administration Building from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
