HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN MEETING MAY 23
Washington County, along with the Cities of Brenham and Burton, are seeking the public’s input for possible updates to the County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The Plan, adopted in 2013, deals with ways to reduce natural disaster damage and is a sustained action taken to reduce or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from hazards. The public is invited to provide input for the plan at a meeting Wednesday evening, May 23rd at 6:30 at the Washington County Event Center.
When adopted in 2013, the plan listed a need for generators during natural disasters. It also gave a list of storm shelters including Brenham Junior High School and the Washington County Courthouse. A copy of the current Plan is available for review in County Judge John Brieden’s Office at the courthouse on the square in downtown Brenham.
