‘BARK IN THE PARK’ SATURDAY AT WASHINGTON ON THE BRAZOS
This Saturday, dog lovers are encouraged to come out to the Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site for Bark in the Park.
Presented by Dogwatch Hidden Fences of Houston, the inaugural event will offer special pet-related activities for visitors and their friends on a leash. The Park will open at 8 a.m., with activities beginning at 10 a.m. and going until 2 p.m.
Activities include adoptable dogs onsite from several rescue organizations, such as 4 Paws Farm, Navasota Animal Shelter, Animal Friends of Washington County, Aggieland Humane Society, and City of Brenham Animal Services.
In addition, there will be vendors selling pet products, pet portraits, talks on historical state dogs, demonstrations, contests, and more.
The free event is hosted by the Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park Association and Texas Parks Wildlife Department. Other sponsors for the event include Red Velvet Inn, Pet Smart College Station, K’s Mutt Hut and in-kind donations for H-E-B, Brenham Tractor Supply, Miracle Farm, and Turner, Pierce and Fultz Ace Hardware.
