FORMER CUBS HELPING LEAD SAN JAC PITCHING
Two Brenham baseball standouts return to Brenham this afternoon—in visitor’s uniforms.
Dane Acker and Dylan Lester will be taking on the Blinn Buccanees, when the Bucs host San Jac in a doubleheader at Leroy Dreyer Field.
Acker, a 2017 graduate of Brenham High School, and Lester, a 2016 graduate, are in the midst of outstanding seasons for the Gators.
Acker, who transferred from Rice University, is 6-0 on the year, with a 1.64 earned run average and 55 strikeouts in 44 innings.
Lester, a transfer from the University of Houston, is 1-1 with a save in nine relief appearances. In 17 innings, Lester has a 1.06 era, with 27 strikeouts.
The Bucs defeated the Gators, 3-1, Thursday. Lester pitched one inning in relief, yielding one unearned run and striking out three Blinn batters.
The Bucs and Gators will meet in a doubleheader this afternoon a 2:00 at Leroy Dreyer Field. The two will meet again, for four games May 2nd and 4th.
The Gators are 19-8 on the season, 9-4 in Region XIV play.
