LONE STAR WATER FORUM SATURDAY IN BRENHAM

  

Anyone wanting to hear about the state of water in Texas should consider attending the 8th Annual Lone Star Water Forum this weekend in Brenham.

The program will be held starting tomorrow (Saturday) morning at the Washington County Fairgrounds Events Center at 1305 East Blue Bell Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year’s subject revolves around the transfer of groundwater from wet to dry areas.  Topics of discussion will include how groundwater transfer affects residents in several area counties, how to understand groundwater conservation districts, and the role of state agencies in the matter.

Speakers include Dirk Aaron of the Clearwater Underground Water Conservation District, Vanessa Puig-Williams for the Trinity Edwards Spring Protection Association, and John Dupnik of the Texas Water Development Board.

Pre-registration for the event is $10.  Registration includes a barbecue chicken and brisket lunch.
