LIFETIME LEARNING ANNOUNCES UPCOMING SPRING AND SUMMER PROGRAMS
Lifetime Learning has announced its third Spring Learning Luncheon and Summer Workshop.
Friday, April 26th, a learning luncheon titled “Washington County EMS Today” will be presented by EMS Director Kevin Deramus. This is a follow-up to a program held last fall on trauma care.
Deramus has been Washington County’s EMS Director for 15 years, and will speak on a number of topics at the program. These include the Advanced Community Paramedicine Program, which utilizes EMS paramedics to fill unmet healthcare gaps in the community.
Deramus will also discuss a recently completed trip to Honduras by the EMS Special Operations Paramedics. Highlights of the Water Rescue, Land Rescue and Tactical Rescue Divisions will also be presented.
The luncheon will be held in the Blinn College Student Center, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The cost of the luncheon is $25, and the deadline to register is April 19th.
This summer, a writing workshop will be held from June 14-16 by Ron Rozelle. The workshop is titled “A Bunch of Heads are Better than One: Three Days of Focused Peer Critiquing”. In this workshop, almost all of the time will be spent critiquing, letting each writer learn from the hits and misses in each other’s writing.
This workshop will also be held in the Blinn College Student Center. The cost of the workshop is $200, with a registration deadline of June 7th. Space in the workshop is limited, and participants must be 18 or older.
