BRENHAM POLICE ARREST TWO FOR UNLAWFULLY CARRYING A WEAPON

Two Brenham men were arrested late Sunday night on unlawful weapon possession charges.
Around 11:45 p.m., Sergeant Terrence Johnson reported seeing two male subjects wearing dark clothing and carrying a backpack walking through Fireman’s Park after hours.
As Sgt. Johnson approached them in his marked patrol unit, the two began running, but stopped and were apprehended.

The subjects were identified as 18-year-old Brandon Cavil and 17-year-old Keaton Farrel, both of Brenham. The backpack was located in a nearby creek, and a .22 caliber handgun was found inside.
The two were charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. Cavil was also charged with possession of marijuana.

To my knowledge the state of Texas is a “drug free zone” as drugs are still illegal in the state of Texas. Your way of thinking is part of the reason that drugs are an epidemic in Brenham. SMDH
When are these youngsters going to learn Brenham parks are drug free zones.
They’re walking around at night carrying a gun in a backpack, running from the police, and your concern is that they haven’t learned that parks are a drug free zone? There are far greater concerns surrounding these circumstances that should trouble you.
