THREE MINORS HANDED DRUG/ALCOHOL CHARGES BY BRENHAM POLICE

Brenham police arrested a trio of underage adults early Friday morning on alcohol and drug charges.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of South Chappell Hill Street for a noise complaint. Upon their arrival, they discovered alcohol and drug paraphernalia inside the residence, with minors consuming the alcohol.

Police arrested 18-year-old Tyreese James of Brenham for Purchase/Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, 19-year-old Patrick Ovando of Waco for Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and 19-year-old Jenise Benjamin of Cypress for Minor in Possession of Alcohol.
Benjamin would later be charged with both the Harassment and the Assault of a Public Servant as she was being booked into jail.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, she became violent toward jail staff, striking one corrections officer in the face and spitting on another.
According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, Benjamin was eventually restrained and put in a padded cell, due to her continued violent tendencies.
