BUILDING PERMITS LAG BEHIND 2018 TOTALS IN MAY
Building Permits issued by the city of Brenham in May lagged behind the 2018 May total, but the 2018 total included 3.1 million for remodeling at Krause Elementary School. This May, 24 permits were issued for 1.4 million compared to 24 permits for 6.6 million in 2018.
May’s total included 7 new residence starts, 5 of which were issued to Stylecraft Builders. The largest permit was for a new residence on Rosedale Drive for $464,000.
Only 4 commercial permits were issued in May, the largest for $47,000 issued to the City of Brenham for a roof over the batting cages at Linda Anderson Park
The yearly total for building permits still leads last year. So far, 122 permits have been issued in 2019 for 27.7 million dollars. That compares to 116 permits for 22.7 million in 2018.
Why?? Spend so much for cover batting cages? We have enough baseball facilities in this town. Anyone ever thought about a covered basketball court or two?
We’ve actually had a few, but they’ve all been torn down.
