HAY BALER, FIELD BURNED IN LARGE FIRE NEAR CARMINE
No one was reported injured after a large fire swept through a hay field Monday afternoon near Carmine.
Just before 6 p.m., the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a hay baler and hay field on fire on Leonhardt Road, south of Carmine.
The Carmine Fire Department responded to the scene, along with deputies. Upon arrival, the fire was quickly contained and extinguished.
Approximately three acres of grass, four round bales of hay, and a New Holland hay baler burned. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
