COLLEGE STATION TO REQUIRE FACE MASKS BEGINNING MONDAY

  

 

Beginning Monday people in College Station will be required to use a face mask in all businesses.

The city of College Station has passed an order requiring the use of face masks in all businesses that goes into effect Monday at 6:00 a.m.  That order will continue until Friday, July 10th.

Under the order, businesses and establishments that violate the order can be fined up to $1,000 per day.  No civil or criminal penalty will be imposed on individuals for failure to wear a face-covering.  And, all persons 10 years or older must wear a face covering when in a public place where it is difficult to keep six feet away from other people or working in areas that involve close proximity with coworkers.

Facemasks will not be required when exercising outside or engaging in physical activity outside; When driving alone or with passengers who are part of the same household as the driver; or when consuming food or drink.

Brazos County Judge Duane Peters said Monday he didn’t a county-wide mandate would be necessary.
