ALTERED TEXAS RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL OPENS THIS WEEKEND
The 46th season of the Texas Renaissance Festival will take on a new look this fall as the gates to the festival grounds in Todd Mission open this weekend.
All who attend this year’s festival, which runs every weekend from tomorrow (Saturday) through November 29th, will need to follow new COVID-19 regulations. Guests, staff, performers and vendors will be required to wear masks.
Festival capacity has been reduced to 50 percent, and nearly 200 hand sanitizing stations will be scattered throughout the 60-acre outdoor festival grounds. Staff and vendors will undergo daily health screenings, facilities at the festival will be decontaminated nightly, and staff will sanitize high-touch areas throughout the day.
There will be mask-break areas on the grounds to allow guests to remove their masks while staying socially distant. Patrons are asked to remain stationary while eating or drinking, while seating at the festival will be adjusted or marked to promote social distancing.
New entertainment this year includes a pyro juggler, an escape room, and a pirate museum.
All tickets are date specific and will need to be purchased in advance, except for military, first responders, and student and senior discount tickets, which require an ID to purchase. Children 12 and under will receive free admission on Sundays.
