A meet and greet for George “Trey” Holleway III and his wife, Laurie, will be held tomorrow from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rock Store, located at 5070 Main Street in Chappell Hill.

Holleway was nominated in August by the Washington County Republican Party to sit on the November ballot as the unopposed candidate for the constable post.  The position was formerly held by Carroll “Butch” Faske, who died in May after serving as constable for 31 years.

Holleway has served in several capacities across the state, including highway patrol in Washington County from 1997-1999.  Before retiring as captain in the Criminal Investigations Division of DPS in Houston, he organized and led task forces targeting criminal enterprises, child abductions, human trafficking, fugitive apprehension, and violent crime.  He has also served on the Governor’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Following his election, Holleway will be sworn into office in January.  The Precinct One Constable’s Office will continue to cover Precinct Two until the transition takes place.
