PANTHERS ROLL PAST MILANO, 56-6
The Burton Panthers scored four times in the first quarter and never looked back as they rolled past Milano, 56-6 to celebrate Homecoming 2020.
In a game rescheduled to Wednesday night due to Coronavirus rescheduling, the Panthers (2-6/2-2) jumped out fast and furious, taking a 24-0 lead after just one quarter. Cooper Lucherk ran for touchdowns of 40, 23, and 30 yards, while Carter Callahan had a 20-yard TD run.

Milano (2-6/1-4), playing the game with just 14 players in uniform, scored early in the second quarter to cut into the lead, but on the ensuing kickoff, Tanner Gore sprinted 75 yards for the touchdown. Lucherk picked up his fourth TD of the first half--this time on defense, returning a fumble 35 yards. Chad Schbert made the half time score 44-6 with a 3-yard run.

In the second half, Schubert added a 5-yard scoring run and Eli Saunders scored from 60 yards out.
At halftime, Kirstin “Minnie” Dyess was named Burton’s Homecoming Queen.
The Panthers will be right back in action Monday night when they host Bartlett. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m., with a 6:30 pre-game on AM-1280 KWHI, FM 101.7 and www.kwhi.com.
