BAYLOR SCOTT AND WHITE ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR CHANGE IN CEO LEADERSHIP
Baylor Scott and White Health has announced a change in leadership effective January 1, 2022.
Baylor Scott and White’s Holdings Board has approved Chief Executive Officer Jim Hinton’s plans to retire from the role and transition it to President Pete McCanna.
Hinton, who has served as CEO since January 2017, hired McCanna in July 2017 to serve in the newly formed position of president.
Holdings Board Chair Ross McKnight called Hinton’s leadership “transformational,” saying he “raised the bar for what it means to be a successful, faith-based, not-for-profit system.”
According to a release from Baylor Scott and White, McCanna has nearly 35 years of experience in healthcare management and consulting. Prior to joining Baylor Scott and White, he spent 33 years with Presbyterian Healthcare Services in New Mexico, including 21 years as the system’s president and CEO.
Hinton said McCanna is “a leader of great integrity with a passion for evolving healthcare to better serve patients and members.”
McCanna said he is “honored and grateful” for this opportunity.
