‘SHAKESPEARE AT WINEDALE’ OPENS 2021 SEASON, FRIDAY

Shakespeare at Winedale returns for its 51st season.

Officials say, despite the difficult circumstances of the pandemic, the program will be able to perform this summer.

The 2021 Summer Class takes the stage Friday Top of Formand runs through August 15th, with performances of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Romeo and Juliet and King Richard III.

Performances are Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 7:30 p.m., with matinees on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $10. Patrons can purchase tickets through the Shakespeare at Winedale website: www.shakespeare-winedale.org

Program director, Professor James Loehlin, says they “have been having a modified, hybrid summer class in conjunction with UT COVID protocols. So far, the students have been meeting over Zoom from all over the state, but we are now moving out to Winedale,” and “it will be a thrill to be back working in the theatre barn again.”
