OLD NAVASOTA ROAD BRIDGE REOPENS

The Washington County Road and Bridge Department says the repairs are complete at the Old Navasota Road bridge at New Year’s Creek and the roadway has been reopened.

The county announced the opening just before 2:30 Friday afternoon.

The bridge, located between the addresses of 1231 and 1500 Old Navasota Road, was closed for minor repairs to the bridge decking.

  1. Good idea. It would be good to see the county do the city street and road work. The county does not charge the newly invented monthly drainage fee that the city planner enacted on every property in the city. Since the county is more efficient the monthly drainage fee heist could be discontinued. This is a great idea.

  2. Washington County Road and Bridge did an excellent job to minimize the shutdown. Unlike, Burleson Road at my brother’s house. It is time for Washington County Road and Bridge to take on the duties of road and street repair at the city. This would for sure save tax dollars as proven in this road repair case again. Not to mention the results of having the timely completion of road projects.

    1. They only repaired the bridge. The road on either side of that bridge is HORRIBLE! Full of potholes, partly gravel road, bumpy, and uneven. They SHOULD NOT take over city road repair, they cannot take care of their roads!!

      1. You must live in a different Washington County. Our roads are horrible. When they do grade them all the gravel is in the ditch and the big holes are not filled in. Their excuse is always … we don’t have the funds. Why did they waste over 4 million on a building only to have no money to fix the roads. They should have stayed where they were and used the money to fix our roads.
