FAYETTE CO. SHERIFF INVESTIGATING MURDER NEAR LEDBETTER

  

A murder investigation is under way in Fayette County.

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that at round noon on Monday his office received a 911call reporting a female and child lying on the floor of a home on US Highway 290 in Ledbetter, covered in blood.

Sheriff’s Deputies, EMS from Giddings, and Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.

Upon arrival on the scene Deputies were advised of a child being transported by Giddings EMS to Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin.

19-year old Justice Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies are looking for, what they call, a Person of Interest who lives in Austin.

Information was relayed to Law Enforcement in Austin for assistance with locating the Individual.

Assisting in the Investigation was Texas Ranger Brent Barina.

An autopsy was ordered by Fayette County Justice of the Peace in Precinct 2 Sheila Coufal.

This case is currently under investigation.
