WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO MEET TUESDAY

Washington County commissioners will discuss land for a new road and bridge department, when they meet Tuesday.

Commissioners are expected to approve the purchase of 21-1/2 acres of property for a new location for the department—deemed a “safety” concern that surfaced several years ago during long-term planning.

County Judge John Brieden would not say where the property is located or indicate a possible purchase price, which he claims could put the sale in jeopardy.

Moving the department will also allow a spot for a new criminal justice center that is also in the county’s long-term plans.

Commissioners are also scheduled to discuss a variety of issues, including granting the County Auditor the authority to conduct an audit of the FY 2014 Asset Forfeiture Report by the 21st Judicial District Attorney.

Also on the agenda is to discuss and act upon a Formal Notice for a Proposed Buried Utility Water Line crossing on Kuykendall Road in Precinct 1 for Donald W Lampe, and discuss and act upon the approval of pending Fairgrounds Management’s Rental and Regulation Contracts presented by the Fairgrounds manager.

The Washington County Commissioners Meet Tuesday at 9am at the Washington County Courthouse.
