TWO ARRESTED AFTER TRAFFIC STOPS THIS WEEKEND

  

Two people were arrested in separate incidents this weekend after traffic stops by Brenham Police.

On Friday, at 3:35 AM, Sergeant Joseph Merkley made a traffic stop for a traffic infraction in the 800 Block of Highway 290 West, frontage road.  Investigation revealed the driver, Gerardo Roque Zamora, 31 of Brenham, was arrested for Unlicensed Carrying of a Weapon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and had a warrant out of Uvalde for Smuggling of Persons.

Then on Sunday, at 09:20 AM, Officers with the Brenham Police Department initiated a traffic stop near the 2400 block of North Park Street.  An investigation was conducted and driver, Anthony Rogers, 33 of Brenham was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 OZ.
