Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative members in Austin and Washington counties will experience a temporary power outage tomorrow (Wednesday), as crews upgrade electric distribution lines.

Bluebonnet says the upgrade will increase the voltage carried through the power lines, and is needed to continue to reliably serve the growing demand for electricity in the area.

The outage will occur between 9:30 and 11 a.m., and will affect about 234 members near All Jersey Lane, Carlinda Lane, Club Road, Dierking Road, Emshoff Road, FM 2754, Goeke Road, New Wehdem Road, Randle Hill Road, South Randle Hill Road, Tegeler Road, Ueckert Road and Weiss Lane.

Bluebonnet General Manager Matt Bentke said there will be over 100 Bluebonnet employees and contractors and about 75 vehicles in the area.  Bentke said crews will work to complete the conversion with as little impact to members as possible, and asked residents to be cautious and aware of workers.

Bluebonnet will call every member who will be affected by the outage to inform them of the length of time they will be without power.
