BELLVILLE LIONS HOSTING 19TH ANNUAL FRUEHLING SAENGERFEST SUNDAY

  

German food, music and fun are in store on Sunday at the 19th Annual Fruehling Saengerfest in Bellville.

Hosted by the Bellville Lions Club and the Bluebonnet Chapter of the Texas German Society, the event gets underway at 11 a.m. at Concordia Hall.

Robert Herridge of the Bellville Lions Club says this German spring singing festival has deep roots that go back over 160 years.

 

 

A barbecue chicken and sausage meal with sauerkraut will be served starting at 11 a.m.

Live entertainment will be provided by the Dujka Brothers, the Bellville High School Polka Band, the O’Bryant Concordia KinderChor, the Round Top Brass Band and the La Grange High School German Folk Dance Group.

Vendors will be selling German and handmade crafts.  Other activities will include a 5K Run with the Lions, kids’ activities, a cake walk, a cornhole tournament, a strong arm contest and a beer sippin’ contest.

Admission to the event is free.  Meal plates are $15.
