BLINN THEATRE TO PRESENT “THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE”

The Blinn College Brenham Campus Theatre Arts Department will present their final show of the current school year next week.

“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” will be staged April 28-May 1 at the Dr. W.W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center.

On Thursday, April 28, and Friday, April 29, the performances will start at 7pm. On Saturday, April 30, and Sunday, May 1, the performances will start at 2pm.

The play is about a group of six middle school students vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. It is recommended for ages 13 and older.

Theatre Arts faculty member Jennifer Patrick, who is directing the production, said the musical has been called a delightful den of comedic genius that charms audiences.

There is also an audience participation part of the play, of which Patrick said, “This unpredictable aspect of the show makes a fun ride for both the audience and the performers. Audiences will not be disappointed.”

Tickets to “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” are available on-line at www.blinn.edu/boxoffice.

The prices are $10 for the public, and $5 for students, children, and senior citizens. Admission is free for all Blinn employees.
