BRENHAM PARKS AND REC BOARD TO HEAR COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE

  

The Brenham Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will receive an update tomorrow (Wednesday) on the city’s comprehensive plan and how it impacts local parks.

During a work session, city staff will discuss the comprehensive plan and its three overall goals for Parks and Recreation, as well as projects that are underway or completed.

The plan’s three goals include continued provision of high-quality park space and recreational programming; an emphasis on the city’s natural, historical, recreational and cultural assets in marketing and economic development efforts; and a renewed focus on pedestrian and bicyclist access and safety within the city.

Board members will also receive updates on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s local park grant program for phase 1(a) of the Brenham Family Park, the recreational trails grant program for the nature trail at Hohlt Park, and projects funded for the 2021-22 Fiscal Year.

The board will meet tomorrow at noon in the second floor conference room at Brenham City Hall.
