POLICE ARREST TWO AFTER TRAFFIC STOPS

  

Two people were arrested after traffic stops over the weekend.

Brenham Police report that early Friday morning at 12:25, Officers performed a traffic stop at the 500 block of Highway 290 East. Upon further investigation a usable amount of marijuana was located, and the driver Gerson Salgado, 23 of Alvin, was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail. Salgado was booked in for Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz.

Then Monday evening at 10:35, Cpl. Jose Perez, conducted a traffic stop in the 2800 block of Highway 36 South. Investigation revealed that Joe Raska, 37 of Bellville had been drinking. Standardized sobriety test were performed and it was determined that Raska was Driving While Intoxicated.  Raska was placed in custody for Driving While Intoxicated with Open Alcoholic Container and for three active warrants.
