ARCHITECTURAL HISTORIAN STEPHEN FOX TO SPEAK AT BRENHAM HERITAGE MUSEUM LECTURE JULY 25

  

A famous Texas architectural historian will speak this month in the next installment of the Brenham Heritage Museum’s Seth McMeans Lecture Series.

Stephen Fox’s lecture, entitled “A Journey through Texas: Interpreting a State through its Architecture”, will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday, July 25^th.  It will be held at the museum’s Julie & Larry Tegeler Gallery at the Bus Depot, located at 313 East Alamo Street.

Fox teaches and lectures at Rice University’s School of Architecture and is the author of numerous books and articles on historic architecture.  He also lectures at the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture at the University of Houston.  He is widely considered the foremost authority on the 19^th and 20^th century buildings of Texas, and his work connects architecture with societal uses.

Longtime Brenham resident and museum board member Seth McMeans is sponsoring the bi-monthly lunchtime lecture series.

Box lunches are available for $10 through a partnership with Must Be Heaven.  They must be reserved in advance by no later than noon on the Thursday before the lecture.  Those wanting to order a box lunch can call 979-830-8445, but guests can also bring their own lunch.
