NEW EXHIBIT OPENING AT THE BRENHAM HERITAGE MUSEUM ON SATURDAY
The Brenham Heritage Museum is opening a new exhibit tomorrow (Saturday) in its Julie and Larry Tegeler Bus Depot Gallery.
The exhibit, which is entitled “Art from Our Collection”, showcases a wide variety of art contained in the museum’s permanent collection.
Pieces on display include oil paintings, watercolors, sculptures, and other media. Some have briefly been shown within the past few years, but others have not been available to the public for well over a decade.
Among the artists are internationally known figures with Washington County ties such as Frank Malina and Bill Condon.
Many other works were created by talented local artists, several of whom were integral members of the Brenham Art League. Styles range from folk to modern to traditional.
With the completion of the renovations and the grand re-opening of the old post office building only a few weeks away, this should be the final time that the Tegeler Bus Depot Gallery serves as a stand-in for the post office building.
The Gallery will continue to host rotating exhibits and will be the primary event space for the museum, as well.
The Tegeler Bus Depot Gallery is located at 313 East Alamo Street at the corner of Clinton Street. Their hours are from 10am-4pm every Saturday until the post office re-opening.
