CUB SOCCER OPENS SEASON WITH A WIN

The Brenham Cub Soccer Team opened the season with a 4-1 home win over the Hempstead Bobcats.

Manuel Mata scored two goals to lead the Cubs. Brenham also got individual goals from Jose Reyes and Diego Torres.

Cade McCoy added an assist.

The Cubs (1-0) now get ready to play in the Madisonville Tournament, which runs from Thursday-Saturday.

On Thursday, Brenham will face Rockdale at 2:15pm.

Then, on Friday, the Cubs take on Splendora at 10:30am, and that will be followed by a match against Livingston at 3:30pm.

Saturday's time and opponent are to be determined by the results of the first two days.
