TWO ARRESTED FOR MARIJUANA POSSESSION
Two people were arrested on marijuana charges Thursday in Brenham.
Around 3:15 p.m., Brenham Police Cpl. Jose Perez stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 1700 block of East Tom Green Street.
Cpl. Perez made contact with the driver, 19-year-old Jermain Drelen Johnson of Brenham, and noted a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Marijuana was found after a probable cause search.
Johnson was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz., as well as two active warrants for No Driver’s License out of the Brenham Municipal and Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 courts. He was transported to the Washington County Jail.
Then around 9:30 p.m., Cpl. Armando Guerra stopped a vehicle for defective equipment in the 1800 block of Highway 290 West.
Contact was made with the driver, 25-year-old Demeche Lakale Eldridge of Houston, and Cpl. Guerra detected a strong odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle. After a probable cause search, marijuana was located.
Eldridge was booked into the Washington County Jail for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
