ASCHENBECK PICKS UP FIRST WIN AS AN AGGIE

Former Brenham Cub and Blinn Buccaneer Evan Aschenbeck waited patiently for his chance, and on Sunday afternoon, he got to show Aggieland what he is capable of.
Texas A&M had dropped their first two games against Portland on Friday and Saturday, and had fallen behind again after they scored four runs in five innings off of starter Chris Cortez.
Aschenbeck pitched four shutout innings of relief, giving up only three hits, did not walk a batter, and had four strikeouts.
Down 4-2, the Aggies rallied with three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Jace Laviolette hit a walkoff two-run double to win it 5-4.
It was Aschenbeck's first win as an Aggie.
