TWO MEN ARRESTED ON FIREARM CHARGES
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Seguin men on Saturday on firearm charges.
Deputy Herman Olvera was patrolling on I-10 around 9am and made a traffic stop on a 2006 Ford pickup traveling eastbound near Schulenburg.
The two men appeared to be very fidgety, and Olvera became suspicious.
The occupants were identified as 65-year-old Jeffrey Allen Timpson and 50-year-old Luis Trigo Garcia Jr.
A frisk of the vehicle was conducted, which led to the discovery of a 38-caliber handgun.
A check on the revolver revealed that it was reported stolen, and a further check on both subjects revealed that they were convicted felons and not allowed to be in possession of a firearm.
The Sheriff’s Office noted that in Olvera’s report, he noticed in plain view, two leather type vests identifying each as a member of an “Outlaw” Motorcycle Gang, and that one was a “Vice President” of the organization.
Timpson and Garcia were both charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Theft of a Firearm. They were then transported to the Dan R. Beck Center.
Deputy Lee Phillips and Schulenburg Police Officer Byron Poe assisted with the arrest.
