CUBS DROP NIGHTCAP TO ST. THOMAS 7-3

The St. Thomas Eagles defeated the Brenham Cubs 7-3 tonight (Thursday) at Fireman's Park. St. Thomas jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Cubs' starting pitcher Lane Sparks.

Brenham got one of the runs back in the bottom of the first. Rylan Wooten singled, and Lane Sparks followed with a double. Drake Bentke then singled home Wooten with the first run of the game to cut the St. Thomas lead to 2-1.

The Eagles took advantage of a couple of Brenham errors in the top of the second to go up 4-1.

In the bottom of the fourth, Wooten singled home Brady Rau to cut the lead to 4-2.

St. Thomas got a two run homer in the top of the fifth to take a 6-2 advantage.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Rau singled home Bentke to make it 6-3. However, the Eagles scored one more run in the top of the 6th to win it 7-3.
