GAS PRICES UP FROM LAST WEEK FOR EASTER WEEKEND

  

Anyone traveling this weekend for Easter gatherings and get-togethers will need to account for higher gas prices.

According to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, the state’s average cost for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $3.24, up 8 cents from a week ago but 51 cents cheaper than this time last year.

The average price in Brenham is $3.19, with a low of $3.00 and a high of $3.50. 

Across the major metropolitan areas in Texas, drivers in San Angelo are paying the least on average for gas at $3.02 per gallon, while drivers in El Paso are paying the most at $3.40. 

Nationwide, the average price for a gallon of fuel is $3.59, up 9 cents from last week but 54 cents less than at this time a year ago.
