TWO ARRESTED ON INTOXICATION CHARGES

Two people were arrested by Brenham police on Wednesday on intoxication charges.
Around 2:45 p.m., officers responded to Fireman’s Park at 901 North Park Street in reference to a welfare concern. Upon arrival, they found 40-year-old Joey James Williams of Louisiana, who they reported to be highly intoxicated in a public place. Williams was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Then just after 11:15 p.m., officers were called out to the 900 block of Highway 290 West in response to a hit and run. Investigation revealed that 47-year-old Norma Ascencio of Brenham was driving while intoxicated. Ascencio was booked in at the Washington County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated.
