THREE ARRESTED IN COLUMBUS DRUG RAIDS
Three people were arrested in Columbus as the result of an ongoing investigation by the Westside Narcotics Task Force.
The Task Force had been investigating reports of narcotics being distributed from a motel in Columbus.
On Wednesday at 6pm, the Austin County Regional Special Response Team executed an arrest warrant in the 1400 block of Rampart Street, and a search warrant in the 1100 Block of Walnut Street in Columbus.
43-year-old Arlandance Johnson was arrested on an active warrant for Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
Meanwhile, 69-year-old John Collins and 34-year Shovonnie Matthews were arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
According a press release from the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, methamphetamine was located and seized during the operation.
The West Side Narcotics Task Force is made up of officers from Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Waller Counties.
The Colorado County D.A.’s Office, Columbus Police Department, and the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the operation.
