ERCOT EXTENDS WEATHER WATCH AGAIN THROUGH AUG. 18

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has again extended its Weather Watch.

ERCOT’s first extension was set to expire on Friday, but will now last through this Friday, August 18th as extreme heat continues to drive record-breaking demand for electricity.

The grid is expected to remain under normal conditions during the Weather Watch, and there is no call for conservation.

ERCOT’s 6-day supply and demand dashboard shows the possibility of setting more demand records this week.

Residents can monitor the grid by visiting www.ercot.com or signing up for notifications through the Texas Advisory and Notification System (TXANS).
