ERCOT ISSUES WEATHER WATCH FROM WEDNESDAY TO SUNDAY
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has issued another Weather Watch as continued scorching temperatures drive high demand for electricity.
The Weather Watch is in effect from tomorrow (Wednesday) through Sunday.
The watch is not a call for conservation, but the increased demand means a potential for lower reserves. ERCOT says it expects grid conditions will be normal and that there is enough capacity to meet the forecasted demand.
ERCOT set a new all-time weekend peak demand record on Sunday at 85,116 MW. The all-time peak was set on August 10th at 85,435 MW.
The 6-day supply and demand dashboard shows the possibility of setting new all-time peak demand records this week.
