MT. ROSE MBC CELEBRATING 155TH ANNIVERSARY
Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church in Brenham is hosting a weekend of music and worship in celebration of its 155th anniversary.
Events kick off tomorrow (Saturday) at 6 p.m. with a gospel musical featuring the Mt. Rose Choir and several guests such as New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Choir, Rocky Chapel Choir, The Mays Family Singers, Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church Choir, Zion Hill Baptist Church Choir, Main St. Missionary Baptist Church Choir and Grace Fellowship Choir.
Solos will be performed by Tamesha Pruett-Ray, Shirley Henderson, Gail Graves, Rev. Dock Williams and Kurt Amelang. Singing groups will include Harold McBride and Elkart Green, the Gospel Christianets, and Roy and the Gospel Tones.
Sunday at 11:15 a.m., the Brotherhood of Mt. Rose will celebrate the anniversary with a church service featuring youth. The theme is “How being rooted and grounded in Christ impacts our community”, with speakers Trevion Wills and Thomas Wells.
The church will close the 155th anniversary commemoration with a worship service at 3 p.m., hosting Pastor Johnnie Williams of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Light refreshments will be served.
All events will take place at Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church, 204 Kerr Street in Brenham.
