SIX CALLS BETWEEN TUESDAY, EARLY WEDNESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to six calls between Tuesday morning and early this (Wednesday) morning.

Around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, the department was dispatched to Precision Polymer Engineering, 3201 South Blue Bell Road, for a fire alarm sounding.  Units arrived to find nothing on the outside, but were informed upon speaking with an employee that the fire alarm company was on location testing the alarm.

Shortly before 2 p.m., firefighters were called out to the 500 block of Seelhorst Street for a grass fire.  Units used tank water to extinguish a 20x20 foot area that was on fire.

Just before 4:45 p.m., the department was sent out for another grass fire, this one in the 10400 block of Highway 290 East.  The Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department arrived on location first and cancelled Brenham units before extinguishing multiple small grass fires on the roadside. 

Around 7:15 p.m., units responded to FM 389 and Sawmill Road for a crash with entrapment.  They arrived and found a single-vehicle accident with injuries.  Fire department members and EMS removed the patient from the vehicle.  The patient was transported by helicopter in unknown condition. 

At 7:45 p.m., the department was dispatched to the 100 block of Shady Acres Lane for a report of a utility emergency.  However, dispatch later cancelled Brenham units and called out the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department. 

Then at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, units received a report of an alarm sounding at Argent Court Assisted Living, 2815 Victory Lane.  They did not find anything showing from the outside of the building when they arrived, but later discovered that an employee had set the alarm off accidentally while cleaning.  Firefighters reset the alarm and returned to service.
