GIDDINGS TO HOLD US 290 MOBILITY WORKSHOP
At the request of the Giddings City Council and the Lee County Commissioners Court, the Texas Department of Transportation has initiated a U.S. 290 Mobility Study.
The purpose of the study is to develop and evaluate preliminary options to improve mobility, safety, and emergency response times and to address conflicts with the railroad in the City of Giddings.
A Community and Business Workshop has been scheduled for Monday, October 30, from 4-7pm at the Silos on 77 in Giddings.
At the workshop, local residents will have an opportunity to learn more about the study and to share information about the community and environmental resources in the area.
TxDOT will also be asking for feedback from the community on the current mobility challenges and business-related questions or concerns associated with the study.
If you can’t attend the workshop in-person, the materials will be available online for viewing on the day of the workshop beginning at 5pm.
Written comments can be sent on-line to TxDOT.gov and searching “U.S. 290 Giddings Mobility Study”, by e-mail to GiddingsMobilityStudy@gmail.com, or by regular mail to Megan Dutton, U.S. 290 Giddings Mobility Study, 1608 West Sixth Street, Austin, Texas, 78703.
