RT-C GIRLS OPEN DISTRICT BY DOMINATING BUCKHOLTS

The Round Top-Carmine Cubettes opened up district play last (Tuesday) night with a dominating 62-22 victory over the Buckholts Lady Badgers.

The Cubettes jumped out to an early 23-7 lead in the first quarter, and then shutout Buckholts 17-0 in the second quarter to a take 40-7 lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the second half, RT-C outscored the Lady Badgers 22-15 to secure the win.

Jill Eilers led the way with 14 points. Tess Eilers added 10 points. Mallory Krause and Kinsley Bage finished with nine points each. Jaylen Bage chipped in with eight points, while Maggie Salinas had six points.

Next up, Round Top-Carmine is hosting a home doubleheader against Bellville Faith Academy on Friday.

The Girls game is at 4:30pm, followed by the Boys game afterwards.
