VOTER REGISTRATION RENEWAL CERTIFICATES BEING MAILED

The Washington County Elections Office says voter registration renewal certificates are being mailed out to residents.

The certificates are sent out during odd-numbered years, but are valid starting the following even-numbered year.  The new certificates are mailed out to voters in active status whose registration is effective on or before December 31, 2023, and are valid from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025.

Information on the yellow certificates includes the Voter Unique Identifier (VUID), year of birth, valid from date, name, gender and a three-digit precinct number, physical address and mailing address.

The Texas Secretary of State’s Office has prescribed a certificate with 10 boxes for placing the seven required voting districts, along with three optional districts to be determined by the county’s voter registrar.

The district codes include:

  1. United States Representative – USREP10.
  2. State Senate – STSEN 18.
  3. State Representative – STREP 12.
  4. County Commissioner – Comm 1, 2, 3 or 4.
  5. Justice of the Peace – JP 1, 2, 3 or 4.
  6. City District Code – CITY – BR C – 1, 2, 3 or 4.
  7. School District Code – SCHOOL.
  8. State Board of Education – SBE 10 (optional).

Voters who do not receive a voter registration renewal certificate can call the Elections Office at 979-277-6264 to check on the status of their certificate or voter registration.
