BRENHAM BOWLING DEFEATS BURTON 14-1

Brenham Bowling defeated Burton on Sunday afternoon at Rose Bowl Lanes by a score of 14-1. 

The Cubs were led by freshman Wyatt Janner who rolled the best series in the Bluebonnet District this year with games of 237-201 for a 438 total.  The 237 was also a high game in the Bluebonnet District this year. 

The lone point for the Panthers came from Grayson Brown who defeated Mason Wolf in a close match.  Grayson had scores of 180-147 (327) while Mason rolled games of 121-184 (305). 

The Cubs were consistent in all three Baker games with scores of 160-153-157 to take all 8 points in the team portion.

On the girls side, although a match did not take place, some important bowling did. 

Vivian Layman fighting to qualify for an individual place in the Region 8 tournament in Cypress in March had a solid outing with games of 170-113 (283) to up her average to 131 on the season.  She currently leads Lea Martinez of Bellville for the second qualifying position out of the Bluebonnet District. 

Cubette freshman Colleen Cole continued to lead the district after her games of 152-134 (286) to maintain her 147 average. 

Also for the Cubettes, Senior Carlyn McCoy had her best district game of the year with a 138 while freshman  Laina Nugent tallied a 136.  Freshman Annalee Sawyer continued her impressive bowling in 2024 with games of 118 and 106.  

The final Bluebonnet District match of Bellville vs. Brenham is set for this Sunday February 18th followed by the Regional 8 tournament in Cypress on March 3rd.
